Norfolk status Woodland margins, chalky downland and grassland.
Very similar to Common Carpet alternata. Comparatively larger in size, on average 20% bigger than alternata (not easy to judge in lone specimens). In Wood Carpet the white outer band is more solid and only weakly divided with matching solid white band on the hindwing.
