Localised.

Often, but not always, adopts an unusual resting position amongst the pugs, with forewings drooped below the horizontal (see photos).
Locally widespread in coniferous woodland, plantations and gardens throughout much of the British Isles.

Recorded in 47 (64%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1873.
Last Recorded in 2023.
