Very scarce in recent years.
Diagnostic '8' marking on the forewing.
Male has feathered antennae.
Hedgerows, woodland, gardens.

After a gap of ten years, a specimen recorded in a garden at Thwaite St. Mary in 2012 (Z. Madgett, 23/10/12).

Recorded in 42 (61%) of 69 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1834.
Last Recorded in 2012.
