Rare.
Fens, Broads.
Fairly distinctive species with white forewing and brown spot in middle of the dorsum.

A few 1990's Norfolk records and more recently at Sutton Fen in 2016 (M. A'Court)

Originally found in only two VC's in Britain, collected from Ranworth, Norfolk by Barrett. (Now in the BMNH).

In 2019 several specimens were recorded in the Broads in areas where little or none of the stated larval food plant, Marsh Marigold Caltha palustris, grows.

Recent studies in the Netherlands (van Nieukerken, in 2006 Franje 9(17) and Huisman et al. 2007, in Entomologische Berichten 67) show that Gypsywort Lycopus europaeus is the food plant and that the larvae mine the stem.

Several unusual specimens, (all male, confirmed by gen. det.), showing darker markings (see photos) were also netted, possibly an unknown form? - Mick A'Court.
