Rare immigrant.
Two authenticated British records in 1945 and 1994 in Dorset.
Many 19th century records of this species are now known to be erroneous. (genitalia determination required)

Barrett [VCH 1901] Cucullia scrophulariae, Sch. "Excessively rare, but a few specimens have been reared by Dr. F. D. Wheeler from larva found at Bramerton, and by the Rev. H. Williams from some found near Croxton, upon Verbascum"
