Status Nationally scarce.
Adult moths are seldom encountered. The larvae mine leaves of Hornbeam, subsequently living within a leaf-fold.
Adults of all Paronix species are very similar and determination requires genital dissection or rearing of larvae.
Leaf-mine: June-July, September-October. Mine expands to form a full depth blotch with two folds. Mine resembles Phyllonorycter tenerella
