Deciduous woodland. One of several very similar moths which can be difficult to separate, best identified by means of genitalia dissection. In general a little larger than S. ambigualis, with heavier markings, greyer in colour, and stongly chequred fringe. C. Barrett [VCH 1901] "Eudorea asistrigalis, Knaggs. Norwich, Aldeby, Denton ; scarce" Around fifteen records in recent years, however Tony Davis (national Pyralid Recording Scheme co-ordinator) remains sceptical as to their accuracy, believing most to probably be S. ambigualis. Confirmed records from East Winch Common 08/07/09 and Tyrrel's Wood 18/07/09 (Female x2 - gen. det. J Clifton) Recorded in 19 (28%) of 69 10k Squares. Last Recorded in 2010.
