Day and night flying species.
Often confused with Pyrausta purpuralis. Diagnostic arrangement of the postmedian markings on the forewing to form one main golden blotch near the costa.

Can be common in gardens where marjoram and mint grows.

Recorded in 55 (80%) of 69 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2013.
