Very similar to C. alchimiella, shorter and less clearly defined yellow blotch on the forewing. Only reliably separated by dissection.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Please record as the aggregate Caloptilia alchimiella/robustella if undetermined.

Leaf-mine: May - July, September - October.
Short gallery becoming a blotch. Later in up to three cones at the edge of the leaf.
Note: You cannot separate these from C.alchimiella unless you examine the pupa or breed out.
