Norfolk status
Woodland, heathland ad scrub.
Very similar to C. alchimiella, shorter and less clearly defined yellow blotch on the forewing. (gen.det advised)

First gen appears around three weeks before C.alchimiella, flying any time between April and November. (C. alchimella flight period is from May to July only)

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Please record as the aggregate Caloptilia alchimiella/robustella if uncertain.

Leaf-mine: May - July, September - October.
Short gallery becoming a blotch. Later in up to three cones at the edge of the leaf.
Note: You cannot separate these from C.alchimiella unless you examine the pupa or breed out.

Recorded in 31 (45%) of 69 10k Squares.

Last Recorded in 2015.
