Norfolk status
Scattered resident population now established, in small numbers, at several locations in North Norfolk.
Immigrant records from around the coast, but does turn up inland.

First recorded in Norfolk at Great Yarmouth pre 1834, with larvae found established in north Norfolk 1955.

"Galii — only one specimen known here till this August, when four were taken, and eight or nine seen. Several caterpillars have been found feeding on Galium verum, on the North and South Denes." Sketch of the natural history of Yarmouth and its neighbourhood, by C.J. and J. Paget, 1834.

A bumper year for this species in 2013 with 279 caterpillars and 25 adults recorded at a confidential site in Norfolk.
