Mature broadleaved woodland, hedges and heathland with mature oaks.
Flies mainly at night. Occasionally flies in sunshine, high in the oak canopy.

Extremely good year for this species in 2017 with over 30 records and 100+ specimens recorded.

Recorded in 17 (25%) of 69 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1874.
Last Recorded in 2019.
