Pauper pug has long grey wings, unlike the short and rounded wings of Grey pug.
Only known from a small number of areas in Britain including Thetford area of south-west Norfolk/north Suffolk and Hockering Wood in mid-Norfolk.
In Norfolk, larvae have been found on Large-leaved Lime (T. platyphyllos), Small-leaved Lime (T. cordata) and on the hybrid (T. x. europea) in plantations.
