Norfolk status Nationally scarce (Nb), suspected rare immigrant.
Until recently restricted in distribution to the Channel Islands and parts of the south coast. Found in south Devon with colonies recently appearing in Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
There is also a thriving population in parts of London, Hertfordshire and several records from Bedfordshire. The species appears to be spreading north.
Migrant examples recorded along the coast in Suffolk.
A specimen was photographed in a garden at Castle Acre, in west Norfolk, on 17th August 2013 (Nick Ford). A second adult was found in a kitchen in Norwich on 6th July 2017 (Hendrik Witziers) A third specimen found inside a house near Thwaite Common in 2018.
