Norfolk status
Adventive.
Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in bananas from Central and South America.

First British record in 1985, when a moth emerged from a fibrous cocoon attached to a banana purchased in Leicester. [Ent. Rec. vol.98]

Adult moths recorded in Norfolk from a fruiterers shop at Attleborough on 12th May 1997 and at a supermarket in Great Yarmouth on 21st Oct 2003.
Both specimens were identified at the Natural History Museum by Martin Honey and Geoff Martin. [NMS Newsletters 65,66]

Note: Similar species Satin Stowaway Antichloris viridis. Please retain adult specimens for confirmation. It is necessary to breed any larvae found on imported bananas to correctly identify Antichloris sp.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.
