Norfolk status
Very local, Re-colonist and suspected immigrant.

Well recorded in the Norwich area in recent years.

Believed extinct in Britain until 1997, It had disappeared from most of its range by 1912.

Larvae locally common in Norfolk until about 1895. Last listed by C. Barrett 1873-1913.

First modern-day Norfolk record taken at a garden trap in central Norwich (I. Lyndsay, 2009). Two records at two Norwich gardens in 2010. New garden records from Bowthorpe, Norwich in 2011 and Costessey in 2012. Recorded at several sites in the Norwich area in 2013.

Larvae found to be abundant on Great and Prickly Lettuce at Thetford, VC28 in 2013. It was last recorded in VC28 in 1871.

Recorded in 26 (35%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1871.
Last Recorded in 2024.
