Norfolk status
New resident? Migrant from northern Europe, resident in southern England where it is known to breed.
Norfolk records initially of vagrants or migrants, with probable colonisation now occurring. Recent colonist in Suffolk where it can be common at coastal sites.

A relatively well-marked and distinctive Wainscot favouring coastal rough grassland habitats. Comes to light, sugar, flowers (Ivy) and ripe blackberries.

First Norfolk record in 2011 at a garden trap in Filby (D. Hipperson, 26/09/11)
Also recorded at Bradwell, Norfolk (VC25 Suffolk) in 2011 (K. Knights, 30/09/11)

After a six year gap, several records in 2017 including a first for VC28 at Weeting (J. Symonds, 13/10/17). Well recorded in recent years.

Recorded in 35 (47%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 2010.
Last Recorded in 2024.
