Norfolk status Rare immigrant. Two authenticated British records in 1945 and 1994 in Dorset. Many 19th century records of this species are now known to be erroneous. (genitalia determination required)
Barrett [VCH 1901] Cucullia scrophulariae, Sch. "Excessively rare, but a few specimens have been reared by Dr. F. D. Wheeler from larva found at Bramerton, and by the Rev. H. Williams from some found near Croxton, upon Verbascum"
