Variable moth.
Grassland, open woodland, fens, vegetated shingle, scrub.
Two main forms of this species occur regularly. f. obscura is the commonest, and resembles a number of other species. The typical form is more well-marked and can resemble Pale-shouldered Brocade (Lacanobia thalassina).
