Uncertain.
Now occurs in only a few southern counties of England and south Wales.
Marshy places, fens, and river banks.

Not listed by Barrett & Atmore (Trans. N&NNS) between 1873 and 1913, yet noted as recorded in Norfolk by South, 1908 (Moths of the British Isles. series ii. first ed.)
According to Waring (Field Guide, 2009) "Formerly known from certain river banks in Norfolk until the 1950's."
