A few claimed Norfolk records, please retain specimens for confirmation.

In well marked specimens an enlarged costal blotch, which extends to near the apex, distinguish this species from A. laterana and A. comariana

Adult moths are generally on the wing from August till October, whereupon they hibernate and reappear the following spring.
