Status Widespread. Blackthorn hedges and orchards and gardens where plums and damsons are grown. Known to fruit growers as the plum fruit moth or red plum maggot, this species is a sporadic pest in plum orchards.
Attracted to FUN pheromone lure. On first trial in 2011, 58 specimens where lured in a garden at Cawston from the 1st May to 22nd Sept. (J. Clifton, 2011).
Several additional species are attracted to the FUN lure intended for Grapholita funebrana.
