Status Local. Sea-cliffs, sandhills, grassland and other chalky or dry pastures. One of several very similar moths which can be difficult to separate.
Only British member of the genus with white legs, but can easily be mistaken for a faded specimen of the common Stenoptilia bipunctidactyla.
