Uncertain. Rare.
Water meadows and other wet areas often in the lower reaches of rivers or even on damp ground by the sides of the road where marsh ragwort grows. Has been known to switch foodplant to common ragwort Senecia jacobea recently in the Netherlands and has expand rapidly.
