Mature broadleaved woodland, hedges and heathland with mature oaks.
Flies mainly at night, occasionally flies in sunshine, high in the oak canopy.

Extremely good year for this species in 2017 with over 30 records and 100+ specimens recorded. It continues to be well recorded in recent years.
