Status
Fairly common migrant.
A very large visitor from southern Europe, occuring in late summer and autumn.

Adult moths come to light and feed at garden flowers, especially those of the Tobacco plant (Nicotiana)

Unable to overwinter in significant numbers. The variable green or black larvae are occasionally found in Norfolk, normally wandering when looking for a site to pupate. Winter survival rates are unknown, but thought to be increasing.
