Norfolk Status Rare. Discovered in Ireland in 1909, with the first UK record in 1940. Mainly coastal distribution in the west of England.
First records from East Anglia at Dersingham, Norfolk (R.Jones, 2010) and also at Cromer (R,Lee, 2010).
Larval cases recently found at Dersingham.
It is possible that the species was originally introduced from abroad with imported ferns. Often found indoors, the moths fly at any time.Recorded in 18 (26%) of 69 10k Squares. First Recorded in 2010. Last Recorded in 2020. |
