Status
Immigrant/possible recent resident.

Most commonly recorded on the North Norfolk coast in September and October, although has occurred from May to November.

The most ever recorded in Norfolk was 83 specimens in the notable migrant influx of 2006, numbers dropped again after this until over 100 were recorded in 2022.

Formerly not able to survive the winter, the recent high numbers recorded (2022+) at widespread locations across Norfolk suggest possible colonisation.

Adults vary in colour from very pale yellow to almost orange.
Recent studies indicate that moths originating in countries of higher temperatures develop more rapidly and so are paler in colour.

Recorded in 49 (66%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1962.
Last Recorded in 2023.
