Status Rare Immigrant/vagrant. Nationally it is resident in the north of England and Scotland on moorland and woodland habitats from September onwards, hibernating over winter to re-appear in the spring.
Immigrant to Norfolk or large-scale wanderer. No confirmed modern-day records, and extremely difficult to confirm many of the old records.
Larvae noted at Stoke Ferry and Wissington in the 1940s, last noted around 1950 (J. Fenn)
