Rare immigrant.
Arriving very late in the year, with Norfolk records from October to late November.
Larger than the other 'Chestnuts', Red-headed Chestnut has two or three small black markings in the orbicular stigma, which are characteristic.

Only four Norfolk records. Wells in Oct 1945.(G. Todd), First VC27 record at Little Melton in November 2011 (P. Kitchener, 25/11/11) Paston in November 2020 (L. Nicholson, 08/11/20) Cley in 2023 (M. Harcup, 22/10/23)

Recorded at Bradwell, Norfolk, East Suffolk VC25 record in 2010 (K. Knights, 08/10/2010)
