Status
Locally distributed in the south and west of England, Wales and in southern Ireland.

First Norfolk record of the species, a presumed wanderer, recorded at Cawston (VC27) 5th Aug 2001 (John Sutton).
Second Norfolk record from Hunstanton (VC28) on 20th May 2011 (Keith & Joan Fox).

The foodplant (Bilberry) does not naturally occur in East Anglia, although it is now being commercially farmed in the region.
The species is also reported to feed on Heather on the Continent, although some regard alternative foodplants as doubtful.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.
