Local.
Very similar to C. elongella, separated with certainty only by dissection of the genitalia. The two species were not recognised as separate in this country until the 1940s (Brown, 1947)

Unicolorous forms are similar to C. elongella, while well marked forms with yellow are similar to C. hemidactylella and will require dissection.

Leaf-mine: July, September - early November
larva mines the leaves initially and then living inside a rolled leaf. (compare with C. populetorum, which makes longtudinal rolls.)
