Status
Rare, uncertain.
Occurs on downland, heathland and other open areas. Until 1978 it was thought to only occur in Dorset.
Later found as far North as Norfolk and Derbyshire.

Lacks any trace of rusty orange coloration and has a more definitive subdorsal dot near the base of the forewing when compared with similar species Agonopterix kaekeritziana.

A single Norfolk record from the Brecks in 1990 (G. Haggett).
