Now believed to be extinct in the UK.
Snettisham Carstone Quarry was the only known locality in Britain for Nothris verbascella.

Larval searches in the Snettisham area have been carried out several times in recent years without success.

First UK specimens taken near Norwich by W. Wing in 1853.
Larvae first found at Snettisham in May 1967 by Chalmers-Hunt and A.M. Emmet. Last recorded there in 1971.
It is thought that adverse weather conditions have eliminated the species.
