Scarce.
Rough fields and marshes.
A pale washed out species easily confused with other Cnephasia.

A Norfolk specimen in the W.G. Whittingham collection at the Norwich Castle Museum is simply labelled "Norfolk 1895" (confirmed by gen. det. J. Clifton)

Recently (2010) split into C. pumicana and C. pasiuana seperated from C. pumicana by differences in male and female genitalia. Most Norfolk records have now been determined as C. pumicana.

A few confirmed modern-day records going back to Holkham in June 2016. (G. Bond. Gen. Det. J. Clifton)

Examination of the genitalia is required to confirm any records.
