Norfolk status Widespread. Easily confused with other Bactra species. Distinguished from B. furfurana by the crescent-shaped discocellular mark and the absence of a basal patch on the forewing. Unicolorous specimens can only be separated by examination of the genitalia.
Please note: Bactra lacteana Discovered in Britain 1996. Specimens of Bactra lancealana showing two short blackish sub-apical streaks should be checked by reference to the genitalic structure.
