Norfolk status Similar to G. dealbana but shows a pink/ochreous suffusion to the white ground colour of the forewing (this can be lost with wear), also told by the basal patch being straighter.
Scarce. Open woodland, hedgerows, avenues, parks and gardens where poplars grow. Very few Norfolk records from Attleborough 1992-1994; Heacham 1995; Sheringham 1996; Lopham 1997. First listed by Barret in 1874 at Denton, Yarmouth and Norwich.
Any suspected individuals must be retained for acceptance.
