Norfolk status
Local.
Ground colour white mixed with grey/brown. The basal patch having the outer edge angulated, median fascia poorly defined showing grey/brown markings, a weak apical spot in subterminal fascia. There can be slight variation of the coloration and markings so care is needed, if in doubt, retain the specimen.

Locally scarce mostly in southern England and East Anglia, with a few records in Wales and as far north as Yorkshire.
Found at the edges of woods and meadows, parks, gardens and similar situations where poplars grow.


First listed by Barrett in 1874 as "on poplar trunks but rare". Several records in recent years.
