Norfolk status
One of several very similar species in the Notocelia genus.
Rosy pink flush when freshly emerged with markings across the central region of the wing.

Occurring in coastal limestone areas and sandhills where Burnet Rose is plentiful, chalk downs and occasionally open woodland inland.

A single old record listed in 1874 where it was recorded at Merton, by Lord Walsingham.

Recorded at Great Yarmouth in September 2023 during a period of high migrant activity. (W. Hampton, 06/09/23 - Gen. Det. M. A'Court) The specimen showed no sign of the pink flush associated with this species. Several specimens taken in Suffolk during this same period of migrant activity.
