Norfolk status
Rare.
Very similar to E. scutulana.

Male shows dark hindwing separating it from male E. scutulana (which has a pale hindwing). Female would require gen det for confirmation.

Very few Norfolk records. First listed in Norfolk by Barrett in 1874. The true status of this species remains uncertain owing to confusion with E. scutulana, which was formerly treated as conspecific.

Confirmed recent records from Catfield (A.Beaumont, 2006), Emily's Wood, Weeting (D.Hipperson, 2011) and Wiggenhall St. Mary Magdalen (C.Sheppard, 2011).
