Norfolk status
Rich brown sub-basal fascia with irregular outer edge, median fascia rich brown mixed with black and fairly well defined, a dirty white, almost obscure blotch between the two fascia, subterminal fascia poorly marked with dark brown and purple but can be lost easily with wear.

Flies actively in late afternoon sunshine.

Found on open uncultivated and waste ground throughout the British Isles. Norfolk records from only a handful of sites across the county. Weeting 1991; Ringstead 1993; West Harling 1995; Barnhamcross 2001; Eccles 2006; Holme 2009; Ashwellthorpe 2010; Wiggenhall St. Mary Magdalen 2011.
First listed by Barrett in 1874 as "Abundant among ragwort".
