Scarce.
Locally distributed in England, mainly in the south and east.

The larvae feed on Oak, inside galls formed by other, usually hymenopterous insects.

First Norfolk record of a male, attracted to pheromone lure at Cawston (VC27) (J. Clifton, 29/05/11). First VC28 record (det. J. Clifton) on NMS Field meeting at Emily's Wood, Weeting (J. Wheeler, 04/06/11)
