Unknown.

There are no clear genital differences observed between this species and P. fasciana.

According to Razowski (2003), Pammene herrichiana is a form of Pammene fasciana - Pammene fasciana f.herrichiana. The caterpillars of P. fasciana living in the fruits of various Oak species and Sweet Chestnut, while the caterpillars of the form herrichiana live in Beech nuts.
According to Haslberger et al. (2016), P. fasciana and P. herrichiana can be clearly distinguished morphologically, biologically and by small but significant differences in the DNA barcode. -lepiforum.org
