Norfolk status Blackthorn hedges and orchards and gardens where plums and damsons are grown. Known to fruit growers as the plum fruit moth or red plum maggot, this species is a sporadic pest in plum orchards.
Attracted to pheromone lure, with 58 specimens trapped in a garden at Cawston from the 1st May to 22nd Sept. (J. Clifton, 2011).
