Norfolk status
New for Norfolk in 2012, a dark male specimen showing no dorsal blotch was recorded at Bunker's Hill near Anmer (D. Appleton, 30/06/12). Determined by dissection (J. Clifton)

Difficult to separate from Cydia coniferana as both usually show a well-marked white medio-dorsal blotch and clear white narrow costal interspaces.

Dissection required to confirm any specimens.

A fairly recent addition to the British list. This species was first recorded from Britain in Hampshire, in June 1975, but not discovered until a second specimen was taken in Berkshire in 1984. Since then a number of examples have appeared and been found breeding. The larvae feed in the young cones of various coniferous trees.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Recorded in 1 (1%) of 74 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 2012.
Last Recorded in 2012.
