Norfolk status Scarce. Pine forests and plantations, most active in hot sunshine at midday and in the afternoon.
Larvae lives in resinous nodules and excrescences on the bark of the trunk and branches and also in one-year-old galls of Petrova resinella and old galls of the Pyralid Dioryctria abietella.
