Uncertain. Possible migrant.

Thought to occur only in parts of Scotland, a female was light trapped in Norfolk at Stoke Holy Cross on 21/06/17 (Dave Jones, Gen. Det. Jon Clifton)

Only an old record from Cumbria exists, making this the 2nd for England.

The moth closely resembles two related species, C. osthelderi and C. speculalis, neither of which breed in Britain.

The similar C. pinella can be separated by the lack of white subterminal band beyond the main central white markings.
