Norfolk status Rare. Creamy markings on chocolate-brown wings and a yellowish-orange head tuft. Larvar feeds on seeds of young fruit. After hibernation in March or April the larvae enters a bud and continues feeding. (Re English name)
similar to Incurvaria praelatella but that species is smaller with costal and tornal spots usually alternate not opposite each other. Lampronia capitella and I praelatella both have similar orange/yellow head. Note the similar but smaller L. luzella has a dark head.
