D. dilutella has now been split, and has a sister species D. inscriptella. Differences in the genitalia of both sexes were detected by Leraut (2001) and the species added to the British list in 2015 (D. Agassiz, Ent. Rec.127)
D. dilutella, ground colour grey, giving a bright appearance with a white sub-basal fascia.
Confirmed records from Cornwall, Ireland, Isle of Man and Scotland.
Distribution is unknown until more specimens have been determined. It is thought that most Norfolk records of D. dilutella are probably D. inscriptella.
All current Norfolk records of D. dilutella must be confirmed by Gen. Det. to be accepted.
Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required
