Norfolk status
Scarce.
Common throughout much of the British Isles.

Confusable with A. acanthadactyla. A. punctidactyla has a greyish or, when fresh, dark greenish tinge, whereas acanthadactyla is reddish; also, punctidactyla has a lot of speckling on the basal half of the forewings, acanthadactyla has very little.

Examination of the genitalia suggested for confirmation. Only one Norfolk record in 1966 from Hockwold. Please retain any possible specimens for further examination.

Larva feeds on flowers and seeds of Hedge Woundwort and various other plants including Restharrow, Cranesbill and Heather.
