Formerly considered a very rare proposed Red Data Book species in Britain.

With the recent introduction and widespread use of pheromone lures, males have been found to be attracted to the Hornet Moth & Lunar Hornet Moth lures.

First Norfolk record to the LUN (Lunar Hornet Moth) lure at North Elmham in 2022. (D. Appleton, 23/06/22) New for VC27 also in 2022 to LUN lure at Hindolveston (M. Nash, 05/07/22)

This species may prove to more widespread than previously thought.

Attracted to LUN pheromone lure at night.
